How Bundle Inventory Adjustments Work
Automatic Bundle Inventory Sync keeps your bundle's stock in line with what you can actually assemble from its component products — at every location, without manual counting.
What this feature does
A bundle can only be sold if all of its components are in stock. The app continuously calculates how many complete bundles you can build from component stock at each location — this is the bundle's Feasible Inventory — and updates the bundle product's stock in Shopify to match. You never oversell a bundle whose components have run out, and you never undersell one whose components just got restocked.
How feasible inventory is calculated
For each component at a location, the app divides the component's available stock by the number of units one bundle needs, rounding down. The smallest of those numbers is the bundle's feasible inventory there — a bundle can only be built as many times as its scarcest component allows.
For example, at one location:

Feasible inventory at this location = 3 (limited by the Gift Box).
How to turn it on
- Open your bundle in the Bundles app and scroll to Automatic Bundle Inventory Sync.
- Check Sync Bundle Inventory with feasible values.
- Review the location table that appears — it shows Current Inventory (what Shopify has now) next to Feasible Inventory (what the app calculated).
- Click Save.
What the app adjusts
At each location, the app compares current stock to feasible inventory and makes one of three changes:
- Adjusted — the numbers differ, so the bundle's stock is updated to the feasible number.
- Stocked out — the bundle shows "Not Feasible" (a component isn't available at that location), so its stock is set to 0. The bundle can't be sold from there until components return.
- Activated — the bundle wasn't stocked at that location ("Not Available") but components are, so the app activates the bundle there and sets its stock to the feasible number.
If current and feasible already match, nothing changes.
When adjustments happen
Adjustments run automatically whenever a component's inventory changes — a sale, a restock, a manual edit in Shopify — and when you save the bundle. There's nothing to trigger by hand.
Defaults and behavior
Sync is on by default for new bundles. You can turn it off per bundle by unticking the checkbox — the app then leaves that bundle's stock alone.
Limitations
- "Track quantity" must be enabled in your Shopify admin for the bundle product and every component. Without it, Shopify has no stock numbers for the app to read or write.
- Bundle stock is calculated, not managed by hand. If you edit the bundle product's stock directly in Shopify, the next sync will overwrite it with the feasible number.
- A location where any component isn't stocked counts as "Not Feasible" — the bundle stocks out there even if other components are plentiful.
