Inventory group vs Auto Sync
Auto Sync vs. Inventory Groups – What’s the Difference?
Our app offers two powerful features to keep your inventory accurate across products: Auto Sync and Inventory Groups. While both help you manage duplicates and stock consistency, they work in different ways.
🔄 Auto Sync
- What it does: Automatically syncs inventory for products that share the same SKU or barcode.
- How it works: The app identifies duplicates based on SKU/barcode values and keeps their stock levels updated in real time.
- Best for: Merchants who already assign the same SKU/barcode to duplicate products.
- Setup: Simply enable Auto Sync from the Settings → Automation tab.
📦 Inventory Groups
- What it does: Groups multiple products together that represent the same base physical item, even if their SKUs are different.
- How it works: You manually create a group of related products (e.g., different t-shirt designs but same size/color) so their stock levels are linked.
- Best for: Merchants selling items that look different in listings but are physically the same product.
- Setup: Create a new Inventory Group inside the app and add all related products.
